2012 marks the 50th anniversary of the Charity Ball; an event that has never wavered from its purpose: to ensure that no one is turned away, regardless of income or insurance, from obtaining proper medical attention. Our hospitals and emergency rooms provide care for the entire community, and proceeds from our Charity Ball will assist individuals unable to pay for this medical care.
As Clearwater’s most historic and longest-running fundraiser, the Morton Plant Mease Foundation’s Charity Ball benefits charity care programs that impact at-risk families and individuals in our community unable to afford proper medical care. The proceeds raised from Charity Ball will allow the underserved population in our community access to high-quality, compassionate health care.

Description
Named for Shirley and the late Harvey Axelrod, Morton Plant Hospital’s four-story Axelrod Pavilion is the new home for an expanded Susan Cheek Needler Breast Center, the Carlisle Imaging Center and the offices of The Comprehensive Breast Care Center of Tampa Bay.
On entering the two-story atrium of Morton Plant Hospital's new Axelrod Pavilion, it is easy to see how the use of such design elements as natural light, warm wood tones, rock walls and bamboo is intended to create a center of healing and comfort. Home to imaging services, diagnostic services, comprehensive breast cancer services, cancer treatment, patient and family support services and physician offices, Morton Plant's newest outpatient facility is a four-story, 103,500-sq.-ft. building located on the hospital's campus.
